Porch Swing

Sitting on the porch

Waiting for a storm

Enjoying the new cushion I bought for the porch swing

Sitting on the porch

The breeze picks up

Enjoying my late afternoon cup of coffee

Sitting on the porch

Grabbing a few minutes respite

Enjoying that my family has no idea that I'm not cooking dinner yet

Sitting on the porch

I know it's getting late

But I'd rather watch cardinals than cook spaghetti!

Sitting on the porch

My cell phone rings

"We're on the way home."

Respite over ... sighhhhhhhhhhh

Wednesday, July 4, 2012

Enjoying the coolness of the fan
and the calming of warm coffee.
Early morning delusion,
before the heat of the day sets in.
When I realize ...
The air conditioner is still broken.

Orange Crocs

Fifty-year “old” lady
Wearing orange crocs
Because they make her smile!

Who will I be
When I emerge from this cocoon?
A Qigong Teacher …
A Student Aid …
Or someone we’ve never met before

The world goes on
Transitions continue to take place
All around me
While my life, my life is on hold

I begin to wonder
Will I recognize this place?
Will I fit back in
After being “gone” so long

Or will I wake up in a different world
Where the “old” one just doesn’t make sense
Anymore
And no one recognizes me

I cannot fathom
I have no idea
Where I will be
When I emerge

Awaiting the promised beauty of what will be
